15 Acts to Check Out in 2015

The new year is here, and that usually means a ton of artists will burst out onto the music scene, whether they're a brand new act or a band hustling for years to finally get their shot. Here is a list of music acts worth checking out in 2015

1) Berenika Kohoutova
Genre: Pop

When she's not busy acting in several movies and TV shows, Berenika Kohoutová devotes the rest of her time into singing at various clubs, collaborating with different artists, and releasing music (her last studio album was 2013's Berenika Meets Jazz).

2) The Scandals
Genre: Punk
Location: New Jersey

New Jersey punk rockers The Scandals spent last year touring Europe and performed with acts such as Bad Religion, Plow United, and FrnkIero AndThe Cellabration. The band will release a brand new EP, which was produced by Brian Fallon, and embark on a tour with Fallon's band The Gaslight Anthem.

3) Lorna Shore

New Jersey deathcore act Lorna Shore had a pretty busy 2014 that involved a performance at Skate & Surf, playing alongside deathcore legends Despised Icon, and tours with Carnifex, Within The Ruins, and The Black Dahlia Murder. This spring, the band will release their debut album, and you can bet they'll spend a plethora of their time on the road. The band already have a peformance booked at this year's New England and Metal Hardcore Festival.

4) Doe
Genre: Pop Punk

Based out of London, Doe's pop punk delivery is the poppiest of all the pop punk (if that makes sense). Their forthcoming debut album First Four is a collection of their first four EPs released since their 2013 formation. The band will embark on their first ever United States trek in February.

5) Die Sektor

7) Brick + Mortar
Genre: Electro-indie
Location: New Jersey

New Jersey electro-indie duo Brick + Mortar had a stellar 2014 with tours alongside Manchester Orchestra, Vacationer, and Middle Class Rut.
