Review: Rustie - "Slasherr"

Glasgow producer Rustie (aka Russell Whyte) will put out a double single, featuring "Triadzz" and "Slasherr", on March 18th. Earlier this week, Whyte began streaming the high-end-parading latter work.

Featuring some of the more organic sounding drum beats used by EDM artists today, the number succeeds at bringing a unique appeal to a somewhat predictable, but in this case effective approach. While modern electronic dance music fans get the bright, gratifying drop they were hoping for, Russell also masterfully takes us through a more experimental section, only to end things on another high-octane release. At times it's ambitious and at others formulaic, but overall, refreshing. Here's hoping the stream of "Triadzz" comes soon.
