Review: Water - "(beautiful)"

Water producer

Providing the Pharrell and Charlie Wilson-sung bridge ("I just want you to know that you are really special") of Snoop Dogg's 2003 Grammy-winning hit "Beautiful" with a backdrop of ascending organs, Water brings blinding production sheen to an already market-tested sample. After a welcoming use of repetition, the soothing, clutter-free R&B-pop hybrid sports almost-wryly vocal manipulation and some modern day production improvisation. Essentially, the two minute and forty second piece acts as an introduction to the mysterious producer's debut Sluts EP, but is filled with enough charisma to stand out as a very warranted and forceful reinterpretation.
