Yo La Tengo releasing EP this month, new album in January

The photo above is the cover of Yo La Tengo's September 25th-slated Stupid Things EP, which features three different versions of the title-track: standard, remix and extended instrumental. A fourth take of the tune (with different lyrics) will actually appear on the Hoboken act's follow-up to 2009's Popular Songs. The currently untitled John McEntire-produced LP will be out this January.
