Review: PAWS - "Sore Tummy"

PAWS Sore Tummy

Judging by the discography listed on their Facebook page, it looks as if PAWS have been around for a minute or two. However, chances are you have not heard this UK trio until now. The guys don't have much to worry about though, it won't take long for "Sore Tummy" to hit that melodic indie rock soft spot bands like Superchunk, Pavement and Sonic Youth carved out in music listeners in the early 90s. The one that acts like Wavves and No Age tried to hit again in the late 00s. With PAWS you get that throwback nostalgia presented in a modern context, a nexus of boredom, slackerism and hopelessness.

Find "Sore Tummy" on the group's debut album, Cokefloat!, out October 9th via FatCat. You can also stream the single's b-side "Salem", below.
