James Murphy recently talked with Rolling Stone about his upcoming directorial debut. This fall, the former LCD Soundsystem mastermind will begin working on a short film inspired by winning photo submissions of a Canon-sponsored contest. Film legend Ron Howard will act as Murphy's mentor, which is something the retired frontman considers "super weird". He went on to say: "I don't know what I'm doing, but that's what I'm excited about."
James also reconfirmed that he is working on a couple songs with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Hopefully more on that soon.
