Listen: Dirty Beaches performs live on WFMU

Dirty Beaches band

Last week, Alex Zhang Hungtai aka Dirty Beaches passed through the WFMU studios to record a live session for Scott Williams' show. Hungtai brought listeners the full version of his Middle Eastern-fused dronestep instrumental "Neon Gods and Funeral Strippers". Currently, the studio recording of piece, which is set to appear on a four way split LP due out August 10th, is only available to be streamed in a 2:24 edited form. However, you can download the just under 11 minute WFMU take, below.

We also included Alex's brash, blown-out rendition of his post-punk Badlands number "Horses". You can playback the Taiwanese/Canadian artist's full radio appearance, which includes a 12 minute interview over at WFMU.
