Wayne Coyne recently spoke to Rolling Stone about the Flaming Lips' 15th studio full-length, which is tentatively called The Terror. Apparently, a lot of inspiration for the LP came from longtime member Steven Drozd's battle with drug addiction. Coyne stated:
"It was probably the worst time of his life. I knew he was really, really struggling. He was in a bad way. He did this one piece of music and did lyrics, all these things. Not all the pieces were audible, but he had these things saying 'you are alone,' and then the other voice saying, 'I am not alone.' Back and forth between some horrible internal dialogue. It was truly devastating."
Luckily, Drozd is better than ever now and the guys hope to release their new album this fall. Watch TFL's perform a new song "You Lust" with Phantogram, below.
