Badly Drawn Boy "to take a complete break" following onstage debacle

Badly Drawn Boy

The audience at Northampton Music Festival didn't seem to appreciate Damon Gough aka Badly Drawn Boy's humor this past weekend, which led to a bit of an onstage debacle. Due to the slight meltdown, Gough will take the next few months off. Official statement, canceled dates and a video of Damon's outburst (via Stereogum), can be found below.

"Both personal and work pressures have come to a head in the last month or so and sometimes I find it very difficult to control my emotions whilst on stage. So in light of this, I have decided to take a complete break from everything for the next three months, something I've not had for fourteen years. I'm really sorry if I offended anybody on Sunday in Northampton."

Badly Drawn Boy canceled gigs

Saturday 18th August – Ropetackle Arts Centre
Sunday 19th August – Strummer Of Love Festival
Sunday 14th October – Words & Music Festival
