New: Desaparecidos - "MariKKKopa"

Desaparecidos 2012

It's been three months since we last got an update from the reformed Desaparecidos. Admittedly, I was beginning to think the handful of reunion tour dates they had announced, which kick off next week, would be it for them. Luckily for us, they were just taking their time getting some new music ready.

Below, you will find "MariKKKopa", the Omaha outfit's first material in a decade. The song's title is named after Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, self-described as "America's Toughest Sheriff". As you may already know, he was all for the anti-immigration act SB1070–the law Desparedcidos first reunited for in 2010 to protest. The KKK insertion comes from Arpaio's appreciation of being compared to the white supremacy group. You'll hear that sound bite at the end of the song. (Via HP)

Update: Listen to a second new song "Backsell" below.
