Rewind: Listen to the Strokes perform live on WFMU in 2000

The Strokes in 2000

Now that our Not Quite Classic series is off and running, we figured Fake Walls should also have a recurring nostalgia post that does not leave out some of our better known favorites. So we'll start off with a live radio performance from the Strokes. One that took place back in December of 2000 on WFMU's The Cherry Blossom Clinic with Terre T, a show that still today happens to be one of the best programs on the listener supported freeform station.

Jules, Albert, Nikolai, Fab and Nick brought listeners an eight-track set featuring: "Alone Together", "NYC Cops", "Soma", "Barely Legal", "Modern Age", "Last Night", "Take it or Leave it" and a version of "Someday" with different lyrics (billed as a "new song"). Check out the alternate take and stream the entire session over at WFMU's archives.
