Watch a 12 minute documentary on Blake Mills

For those who don't know, which will probably be most of you, Blake Mills is a 25 year old guitar prodigy who has already made quite a name for himself in the music world. He has toured (as a band member) with: Fiona Apple, Conor Oberst, Julian Casablancas, Lucinda Williams, Jenny Lewis, Cass McCombs and Band of Horses. He was also a founding member of Simon Dawes, who are now known – due to his departure – as Dawes.

What an even lesser amount of people know is that Mills is one hell of a songwriter. The Venice Beach musician's debut solo album, Break Mirrors, was one of this site's favorites of 2010. You should consider checking out the video for the effort's lead single "Hey Lover".

The folks behind Red Bull Sound Stage seem to appreciate Blake almost as much as us. At least enough to make them want to put together a 12 plus minute documentary on what makes the man so awesome. The feature includes appearances from a slew of accomplished musicians, but we'll let those be surprises. Enjoy the video below.
