Watch Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner & Nico Muhly collaborate

Sufjan Stevens

Last week Cincinnati’s MusicNOW Festival held a collaborative performance by three big name guests. Multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens, the National’s Bryce Dessner, and contemporary classical composer Nico Muhly joined forces for their first public performance together. The trio recently announced their collaborative work on a song-cycle inspired by the planets in our solar system.

Stevens, Dessner, and Muhly’s only official performances are in Eindhoven, Amsterdam, London, and Sydney, and what happened last week was billed as a “live workshop” of the song-cycle. In case you didn’t make it to Cincinatti and you don’t have plans to fly to Europe or Australia, there’s partial video of last week’s workshop. Check out "Saturn", "Venus", and "Jupiter" below.
