Damon Albarn will release 'Dr Dee' opera album this May

Music legend Damon Albarn has announced that he will release a new studio album made up of music he composed for Dr Dee. If you're not aware, Dr Dee is an opera created by Albarn and playwright Rufus Norris based on the life of John Dee, an English mathematician/philosopher/astronomer from the 16th century. The production premiered last July at the Manchester International Festival.
According to NME, the LP is set to be release May 7th (UK) and it will contain 18 tracks recorded with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Blur mastermind's London studio. Tracklisting and video of Damon performing "Apple Carts" can be found below.
