Portlandia confirm season 3

IFC has announced that their indie comedy Portlandia will return for a third season. Season 3 is set to premiere in January of 2013, with not one, but two specials airing between now and then. The first, titled Portlandia: The Brunch Special, will be an hour long and will air sometime this summer. The second will be a half-hour and will air over the holiday season. The program starring Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen and Wild Flag's Carrie Brownstein is the network's highest rated series of all time. More info on the show, below.

Shot entirely on location in Portland, OR the series is directed, co-created and co-written by Jonathan Krisel (SNL; Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job), executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video. For IFC, season three is executive produced by Jennifer Caserta, Debbie DeMontreux, Christine Lubrano and Evan Shapiro.
