The Roots Picnic reveals 2012 lineup

Neo-soul staples The Roots have unveiled the lineup for their fifth annual Roots Picnic. The curating band is headlining as usual, plus this year they’ll be the backup band for De La Soul. The schedule also includes Kid Cudi (thankfully not WZRD), a DJ set by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Major Lazer (and a solo set by Diplo), St. Vincent, tUnE-yArDs, Shabazz Palaces, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Wale, and others.

The show takes place at the festival pier at Penn’s Landing in The Roots’ hometown of Philadelphia on June 2nd and 3rd. Tickets are on sale today, March 15, with pre-sale password “picnic”.
