Neil Young officially announces two new albums with Crazy Horse

Neil Young Crazy Horse

Rumors have been flying around for the last couple of weeks about Neil Young and Crazy Horse working on one or two new albums together. Earlier this week Neil Young confirmed that he and Crazy Horse there are definitely two albums on the way, one that they have already completed and one that is still in the works. Young and the band haven’t recorded together in the studio since 2003’s Greendale, but the two new albums should be out soon.

The completed record is apparently titled Americana and includes a “very young choir of children … they’re songs we all know from kindergarten, but Crazy Horse has rearranged them and they now belong to us”. Last week Young released a video of a recording session that included a paper with the titles of various children’s songs including “This Land Is Your Land”, “Clementine”, “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain”, and “Oh, Susanna”. No word yet on the content of the other Neil Young and Crazy Horse album.

The two folk-rock legends will also perform at the MusiCare’s Person of the Year Gala celebrating Paul McCartney next week. The February 10 show will mark Young and Crazy Horse’s first gig together in eight years.
