Listen: Ted Leo performs new song & covers Seal on WFMU

Ted Leo on WFMU

Ted Leo stopped by WFMU's The Best Show with Tom Scharpling earlier tonight to assist in raising funds for the freeform radio's 2012 Marathon. While there, the Pharmacist leader dished out a new song temporarily titled "The Gambler" as well as a duet cover of Seal's massive 1995 hit "Kiss from a Rose" with Julie Klausner. The latter of the two tunes can be streamed below.

You can listen to Leo's new song and pledge to WFMU by heading here. The number starts around the two hour mark. During the interview portion of Ted's appearance, the veteran rock musician stated that he hopes to have a new release out by the fall and if he does, "The Gambler" will be on it.

Update: Ted & Julie closed out the show with a cover of "Different Drum", a song best known for being performed by Linda Ronstadt. Evan Dando also did a pretty awesome take of it a couple years back at Maxwell's.

"That got Seal and Heidi Klum back together."
