Listen to two unreleased Craig Finn tracks

Craig Finn

With his debut solo album two weeks behind him, Craig Finn performed two outtakes from Clear Heart Full Eyes this week. The Hold Steady frontman went on both NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series and Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current for live sessions.

On NPR, Finn performed “Jeremiah’s Blues”, a sparse, tragic track about regret and Jesus with some sweet slide guitar. On The Current, Finn did “Sarah, I’m Surrounded”, another relatively slow, verbose country-blues song. Neither song made the cut on Clear Heart Full Eyes, but both would have added some more raw, personal moments to the Boston boy’s record.

Check out Finn’s full sets on NPR and Minnesota Public Radio below, “Jeremiah’s Blues” and “Sarah, I’m Surrounded” start at 10:15 and 10:45 respectively.
