New Yeah Yeah Yeahs album coming this spring

Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album

This spring, along with getting some "DNA upgrades" and "spontaneous evolution", we'll be sinking our teeth into a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. The band confirmed the news via Twitter just minutes ago: "DNA upgrades, spontaneous evolution and NEW YEAH YEAH YEAHS RECORD ARRIVING SPRING 2013! finally."

Last month, Karen O & Co. tested out a new song, called "Despair", live during an intimate Hurricane Sandy benefit. Unfortunately, due to show regulations, no one was able to capture footage of the take. Back in October, video of James Murphy working with YYY's Nick Zinner in London hit the web, but was removed shortly after.

The new song is called "Despair", not "Desire". Also, there weren't any show regulations in BK. Karen politely requested no cameras and most people obliged. There are a few videos of other songs, but none of "Despair". Also, it's been confirmed that James Murphy and Nick were not working on YYY material in London. The Yeahs record was already done when they were in London.
