Review: Ducktails - "The Flower Lane"

Ducktails The Flower Lane

Matt Mondanile walking through city streets in the fall, hands in pockets, gazing through department store windows, strolling through parks him and his ex-lover used to venture through together, are some of the images that come to mind when listening to "The Flower Lane", the title-track of the Real Estate member's forthcoming somewhat solo album, which will be out January 29th on Domino.

Anyone with good taste knows those are always painfully-pleasing images to conjure up and luckily Ducktails channel them at a highly proficient level with some help from producer Al Carlson. Float through the warm, welcoming melancholy, below.
