Dinosaur Jr. working on Electronic Anthology Project

Earlier this week alt-rock legends Dinosaur Jr. announced that they are working on a new album of old material. The Electronic Anthology Project will include new recordings of various Dinosaur Jr. songs redone as 1980s style synth-pop. Rather than the usual band formation, the new project will just be J Mascis (taking vocal duties) with some support from Built to Spill's Brett Nelson.
Nelson and bandmate Doug Martsch created the Electronic Anthology Project a couple of years ago for an album of similarly redone Built to Spill songs. The album will be out as a limited edition purple vinyl on April 21 as a part of this year’s Record Store Day.
