Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear working on a solo EP

Daniel Rossen announced this week that he’s working on his first solo EP. Rossen, who usually records with Grizzly Bear or Department of Eagles, will release the Silent Hour/Golden Mile EP March 20 with Warp Records. The EP will feature guest spots from Eric Slick of Dr. Dog, Kris Nolte, and Ian Davis.

The first taste of the EP, a track called “Saint Nothing” is available now, courtesy of Rossen himself on YouTube. “Saint Nothing” is a toned down, lower key track than most anything from Grizzly Bear or Department of Eagles. The song is mostly just a simple piano part under Rossen’s powerful vocals. Take a listen below.
