Last night's episode of The Colbert Report included a segment in which Colbert attempted to settle a dispute between New York Times crossword puzzle editor Will Shortz and writer Julieanne Smolinski. The argument was over Shortz's alleged improper usage of the word "illin’" in one of his crossword puzzles. Colbert enlisted the help of Mike D of The Beastie Boys to weigh the pros and cons of each side of the argument. Below you can watch the pretty fun bit.
The obvious way in which Mike D reads from the cue cards the entire time is a little awkward, but he still manages to get a few decent laughs. Enjoy.
