Trent Reznor to work on new Nine Inch Nails material later this year

Trent Reznor

During a recent interview with Billboard, Trent Reznor revealed his plans to write new Nine Inch Nails material at some point during 2012. The accomplished musician's efforts since the hiatus of his mega rock group, include recording the Golden Globe and Oscar winning score for The Social Network, as well as penning another score for the recently release The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Trent has also been dedicating time for his other band How To Destroy Angels, which have an LP coming out this year (details tba). But what you'd really like to know is what Reznor said about writing new Nine Inch Nails stuff, right? Well, check out what the NIN mastermind told Billboard, below.

"I'm going to be writing for Nine Inch Nails this year," Reznor, who will be at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards for "...Dragon Tattoo's" Best Original Score nomination, tells Billboard.com. He put NiN on hiatus in 2009, and Reznor explains that at the moment he doesn't "have any particular goal in mind other than... my voice as a songwriter feels like it needs to speak up or at least work out a little bit to not atrophy. I think I have something to say that feels unique to who I am right now, and that's when it tells me it's time to do something."
