Justin Vernon starts record label, Chigliak

Justin Vernon has launched a new record label called Chigliak. The Bon Iver mastermind's company is an imprint of Jagjaguwar, which will release, as Pitchfork puts it: albums that "were never commercially released" or "locally released and never put out on vinyl," as well as new recordings.

Chigliak will first reissue Amatuer Love's It's All Aquatic, then put out records for Sarah Siskind and Minnesota band 12 Rods. Release dates and other info regarding those releases are still forthcoming.

The label's name was inspired by a character with the same name in the 90s television series Northern Exposure. Check out a video of Amatuer Love performing "(absolut fiction)" live, below.
