Jeff Buckley to be played by Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley?

Earlier this year it was revealed that a Jeff Buckley biopic was in the works. Now Penn Badgley who plays Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl is said to have scored the role of Jeff Buckley. Penn is rumored to have beaten out James Franco and Robert Pattinson, who is apparently devastated over it, for the part. Jake Scott will be directing the film and Ryan Jaffe is writing the script.
