Interview: Indestructible Noise Command (I.N.C.)

Indestructible Noise Command

Indestructible Noise Command was a Speed/thrash Metal band from USA. They formed in 1985 and were signed to Giant records. They split up after their second album “The Visitor” in 1990. Now, the band is back and ready to shred in support of their latest EP, Bleed The Line, and full-length, Heaven Sent, Hellbound, which is being released on May 24th.The release is being produced by world-famous record producer Fredrik Nordström (At the Gates, In Flames, Opeth), and the artwork is illustrated by famous artist Sam Shearon (Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie, Fear Factory). Check out Indestructable Noise Command's single (and stream it!) and enjoy our exclusive interview, below!

How did the band form? Why did the band split up? How did the band reunite? Is the reunion permanent?

Erik-The band initially formed in 1985 in high school, we got signed as soon as we graduated in 1986, out out our first record in 1987(Razorback) and another in 1988(The Visitor). We broke up in 1990 after things started going badly for us, we left our label because of lack of support and when a major record deal we had been working on for 9 months fell through, things went sour. Our turnouts at shows went from 1500 people to 100 and the band started fighting so we called it quits.

We got back together in Feb of 2010 after Dennis Gergely and myself were talking on AOL instant message. We were having a laugh about the old days and all the bands that had opened for us, we started Googling them and learned that most were still around playing and making music. We said what the hell, why aren’t we doing this. So I wrote Full Metal Jacket in one hour after that conversation and we were off to the races.

We are back for the long haul, Heaven Sent...Hellbound is the catalyst for great things to come. The next album is written already and the songs will keep coming hard and fast.

How would you describe the band to someone that has never heard you guys?

Erik-We are really a hybrid of many things. The ultimate metal mutt. We are 1 part thrash, 1 part power metal, a bit of old school with a new sound while paying homage to all those who paved the way for metal during the past decades.

What are some of your biggest musical influences?

Erik-I love so many different bands and styles, it’s hard to say what really influences me these days. I admire everything from Lamb of God to The Killers to Venom.

What are some of your non-musical influences?

I would say the History Channel...lol...I got a few topics for this album from there including Fist of Fascista(about Mussolini) and Bleed the Line( the German Cannibal Armin Meiwes)

Talk about the writing process for Bleed The Line EP -- was it difficult writing a new album after all of these years?

I don’t think writing music has ever been easier for me, it’s like a had a million demons that needed to be let out and I finally told them the coast was clear,

What are some of your current musical indulgences? Who is new to the scene that's doing a great job? ANy hot new bands that you're into?

Really into Protest the Hero, love the new Onslaught album as well. As I mentioned before, really love The Killers, like how they constantly keep changing it up, never what’s expected.

What do you think of New Jersey?

Love Jersey, used to rehearse there for about 3 years near Giant Stadium,  love the strip bars and the Jersey shore, no not the fucking douchbags on the show, the actual shore!

What are your plans for 2011?

Gonna keep up this PR blitz for the next few months. We are making a new video next month for the song Swallowed and possibly Fist of Fascista. Planning on touring Europe end of summer and US after that. See ya then!
