The Love Is All Around Us Tour was an extremely appropriate tour name, because last night School of Rock was filled with nothing but positive vibes. The first on the tour package was Plug In Stereo. It's hard to believe that frontman Trevor Dahl is only seventeen years old. The high school dropout is certainly making a name for himself in today's music scene! His debut full length drops in April.
When He Is We stepped onstage later in the night, it was obvious who the majority of the crowd was here for. The band has shot up since their last show at School of Rock in October, and everyone was singing along to new songs off their latest record, My Forever. Closing the set with their single "Happily Ever After" (which you may know if you've been to the AMC theatre in the Garden State Plaza recently), lead singer Rachel brought a young fan onstage to sing the last chorus with her. Too cute!
Finally, The Scene Aesthetic took the stage. The band broke the set into three parts, starting with a full band, then going back to their acoustic roots for awhile, then finishing off with a full band once again. The highlight of their set was definitely the band's cover of "Back To December" by Taylor Swift, in which frontman Andrew De Torres showed off his mandolin skills. Closing with the ever popular "Beauty In The Breakdown," the band definitely won over the crowd of teens.
