Fucked Up is seriously getting into the holiday spirit this week, revealing all kinds of tidings. The hardcore band is apparently working on a holiday split 7” with fellow Torontonians Sloan, available on December 20 from Matador. Sloan will take “12 Days of Christmas” while Fucked Up will do the loudest “Jingle Bells” ever.
Mr. Damian and friends also have another Matador EP on the way: “Year of the Tiger”. The newest in the Chinese Zodiac series comes out on February 21 and will feature Jim Jarmusch, Austra, and Duchess Says’ Annie-Claude Deschênes. Both EPs are at least partially for charity, with the split’s proceeds going to the COUNTERfit Harm Reduction Program and the Barriere Lake Legal Defense Fund and some of “Year of the Tiger”’s earnings heading to the Save the Tiger fund.
Plus, Fucked Up released a new music video today for “Turn The Season”. The characteristically intense hardcore track is set to a very calm video of a band photo-shoot. Well, calm until the explosion at least. The track comes from the band’s epic third album, David Comes to Life, which is out now via Matador. Check out the video below.
