Emo pioneers the Promise Ring are getting back together for some shows and a new rarities album. Almost ten years after their breakup, the boys are planning a couple of reunion shows in February. The Promise Ring is hitting their hometown of Milwaukee at Turner Hall on February 24th and Chicago at the Metro on February 25. Tickets for both of those shows go on sale this Friday.
Rumor has it that the boys are thinking about more shows or even a reunion tour, but that’s not clear yet. They’re also working an album of outtakes, demos, and other rarities, taken largely from 2002’s Wood/Water. No word yet about a release date for the rarities album or future shows.
