Video: Grimes perform "Oblivion" on MTV


Montreal’s Claire Boucher, a.k.a. Grimes, did a killer rendition of a track off her upcoming Visions. The track, “Oblivion”, is a much-needed bridge between spacey glo-fi and more light-hearted indie-pop. Grimes’ song prominently features synths and ethereal vocals but it also has a danceable beat, which is all too rare in music like that. Plus, unlike a lot of other contemporary musicians, Grimes looks like she’s having a lot of fun making music, and that positive energy certainly works it’s way into the track.

Boucher performed the song earlier this week as a part of MTV’s yourstru.ly concert series. Her album, Visions, is out on January 31st. Check out the video below.
