Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy released a new track and music video this week, both with some serious star power. On the song, “I Do”, Jeezy lands guest spots by two polarized hip-hop icons, Jay-Z and André 3000 of OutKast. The track is much more André than Jay, with it’s prominently featured throwback brass sample and backing soul vocals.
For the “F.A.M.E.” video, Jeezy gets help from recent jailbird T.I., who’s also working on a comeback. Jeezy pulls out all the rap video clichés on this one: showing off his sweet penthouse and car, hanging out with busty women, and drinking prominently labeled alcohol. Basically, he drives around the city at night wearing sunglasses (it must be hard to see) and reflecting on his career and angst. Both tracks come from Young Jeezy’s upcoming Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition, which drops on December 20th from Def Jam Recordings. Listen to “I Do” below and watch the “F.A.M.E.” video below that.
