WFMU Fundraising Marathon

WFMU logo

Jersey City's WFMU is currently running a fundraising marathon. Though WFMU has always been a listener supported, non commercial radio station, due to some recent financial woes the station is in need of your donations more then ever. You maybe asking "what do I get from making a donations other than awesome freeform radio?" Well luckily if you make a donation of $50 or more you can choose between one of two limited edition WFMU t-shirts (I'm totally getting the Radio Bear one). You can also do other 'fun' stuff like adopt DJ's and/or radio station fixtures for a year. For more info and to make a pledge go here. Some more info can also be found below:

Whether you consider your allegiance to WFMU a vice or solid proof that you’re sticking to your philosophical guns, I hope that unique and inventive radio has made it to your list of essentials. Please join in on the event that keeps our little miracle organization kicking, screaming, drumming, shredding, and droning year after year. WFMU’s annual fundraising Marathon runs March 1st - 14th, and we need you to step up and testify.

The past few months have represented an exciting yet difficult period for WFMU. Just as we built our new booster antenna in Manhattan, the lease for our main transmitter site in New Jersey was quickly approaching its expiration date. At the same time, the recession hit us hard and WFMU’s finances went south. We postponed addressing some remaining technical issues with our booster last Fall while we held a rare 24-hour emergency fundraiser to ensure that WFMU could exist through the winter. Many listeners came to our aid, for which we are eternally grateful.
