Patti Smith & Smithereens to participate in benefit for The Court Tavern

The Court Tavern New Brunswick NJ

According to The Court Tavern's Facebook Page, a benefit for The Court Tavern will take place Friday, April 30th @ State Theatre in New Brunswick. The very impressive line up will include the legendary Patti Smith and New Jersey's own Smithereens. Also playing will be The Slaves of New Brunswick, a group made up of veteran NB musicians. A on-sale ticket date has yet to be released, but we'll keep you updated.

The Court Tavern has had some financial troubles the past few years. The most recent being this past December when Eileen of The Court Tavern sent out a message pleading for people to help cover their debt of $20,000. Luckily, a long time friend donated the $20,000 in full. The Court Tavern has been in existence for over 50 years, and has been putting on concerts for over 20 years. The event is on the State Theater website although no details as to when tickets go on sale. Orchestra seats are $42.00 though.

Doing it at The Court (which holds maybe 200 people) would be nice but it would defeat the purpose of raising enough money to keep the place financially stable.
