Gallows @ Death City 7.20.09

Gallows

Gallows in New Brunswick

New Brunswick basement show

Gallows decided to spend their day off from Warped Tour a little differently than the rest of the acts.  Instead of maybe hitting the beach or sight seeing in NYC, the English hardcore/punk band made a stop in "New Brunswick, home of basement shows..." The instantly sold out basement show was definitely an acknowledgment of their true fans that may have avoided seeing them at Warped Tour, due to the nature of the event.  Frank stated "Being on Warped Tour has been the most miserable experience of our lives..."

Besides for taking digs at Warped Tour, Jeffree Star, and Millionaires there was not much talking going on. The energy of their set never let up, it was hard to even realize what was going on half the time. I couldn't tell you how long they played for or how much of the ceiling was torn down, but the one thing I knew for sure was, this is what makes New Brunswick what it is.

Chambers

Chambers band live

Dan Pelic of Chambers

Chambers band at Death City

Only a few shows deep, Chambers put on a performance that would not be expected from such a newly formed band. Fully realizing the opportunity they've been given to open for such a prestigious act, the New Brunswick hardcore band made sure to win over the crowd. It's not just about Chambers live show though. The group recently released 6 new songs, which everyone who is a fan of good hardcore music needs to check out.

This was a great show! Cool pics, I managed to get some myself. Wish I'd seen Totally Wreck.

"there was not much talking going on."

I disagree. I'd say Frank actually did talk a lot: saying what song should we play next, if this was the last show I played I'd be happy, the last basement show we played was in Scranton, and this show has out beat it already in two songs, asking the crowd to circle pit, explaining what on of their song's means, all the song introductions, thanking Dan and the bands at least twice, saying how nauseous he felt, etc. They practically stopped after every song. Awesome show. I'm glad Frank spoke, he a lot of good things to say!
